Kazan-dibi

2.60

Stories of Constantinople that are mixed into the same dixie with legends, love stories and milk produced by buffalo. Kazandibi is an invention of an Imam centuries ago, when he burnt the buffalo milk, because he didn’t want to accept the punishment of the Sultan. He named it “kazandibi”, “the bottom of the dixie”. Since then he has become the “Godfather” of this tasty ritual.
The roots of this Constantinople recipe have remained unchanged to the tradition of Mpekas Family, which is the one and only family in Greece that produces kazandibi with the usage of buffalo milk and respects the legend by producing a dessert with devoted followers in Greece and abroad.
